Jana Scrivani, Psy.D.
Dr. Scrivani is a licensed clinical psychologist who has spent her career providing expert treatment to individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Body Focused Repetitive Disorders (BFRD), the full range of anxiety concerns, and chronic pain. Her approach to treatment is grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), including third wave CBT such as mindfulness-based interventions, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Dr. Scrivani strives to work with her clients to tailor research backed treatments to meet individual goals and needs, while fostering a warm and collaborative relationship. Over her career of more than 15 years, she has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals and college counseling centers. A pioneer in the landscape of virtual services, Dr. Scrivani has been providing telehealth since 2017 to truly meet clients where they’re at!

Education
Dr. Scrivani received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and stayed to complete her Ph.D. at Rutgers’ Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Her graduate training provided her with extensive training in state-of-the-art treatments to individuals with a range of anxiety and related disorders. Her dissertation, Meeting The Needs of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities Who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender: Are we there yet? Dr. Scrivani was recognized with the Cyril Frank award for excellence in pre-doctoral research. Dr. Scrivani completed her training at the APA accredited internship at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, in San Diego, CA, where she furthered her training in providing evidence-based treatment to individuals receiving both in and outpatient care. Dr. Scrivani rounded out her education by completing her post-doctoral training in pharmaceutical research, also at Sharp Mesa Vista.

Dr. Scrivani has been practicing since 2009, providing evidence-based treatments for a full range of psychological disorders, supervising students, and writing. She is frequently quoted in various media outlets regarding her expertise in anxiety and related disorders.
